Gasthof zur Post in Winterberg

We went to dinner as a family yesterday. It was just perfect all around. Very nice staff, delicious freshly cooked food and a very pleasant atmosphere. Everything was beautifully decorated in autumn with lots of candles. Highly recommended. Get through this crazy time and keep it up.

Best restaurant and hotel in the Sauerland! Friendly owners and clean rooms with an incredible view! Corona hygiene measures were implemented perfectly, that was particularly important to us.

We ate very well. Prices are moderate. Rustic atmosphere, matching the half-timbered house. Crew friendly. We will be back.

We spent a very nice weekend there with our friends. Received a very warm welcome. The rooms are very clean and well equipped, we didn't miss anything! Our room had a balcony with a fantastic view! Dinner was great! Breakfast was very good! Great service! Dogs are welcome! Our dog also felt very comfortable! We will be back definitely!

The food was okay, but nothing more. Not particularly tasty, just mediocre. It was asked several times whether we wanted to have french fries or mayo afterwards. We gladly accepted the offer. That actually everything was petty billed. This dealings left us with a bad aftertaste. We won't be there again.

I was there 3 weeks ago with my boyfriend and his family and it was a beautiful experience! They have an amazing kitchen, they offer regional and seasonal meals, they also have vegetarian and vegan dishes. We had views to the mountains for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s also really nice places to go for long and short hikes. It was magic ? Martina was sooo kind and the service there is amazing! I defiantly recommend this place.

Yesterday we made a reservation at 20:00 at Gasthof zur post, because of Corona you had the choice to come at 18:00 or 20:00, we thought we would go at 20:00 then most of the crowds will be over. When we walked to the restaurant, we saw that there was little or no space outside. It was 30 degrees so sitting inside without air conditioning would not be very pleasant. When we entered the restaurant it was already chaotic, we said that we had made a reservation, we had to wait until the attendant had finished the rest (behind the bar) and we were in the middle of the restaurant. When she was done she walked us to our table, it was inside instead of outside. With 30 degrees and no air conditioning, that was not very nice. I opened the window so that it could still vent somewhat. Once we sat down at the table, we thought we'd make the best of it. We got the card in our hands and she walked away, offering nothing to drink ... Because the window didn't really help, and we were sweating away by now, and it took forever for the order to be taken (there were other people behind us who had been waiting for their food for 1.5 (!!!!) hours in that warm loft) we had made the decision to walk away and eat somewhere else. Pity!

Delicious food. The dishes are not standard, but very tasty. There is also an extra children's menu. Finally, the service is right here, very friendly.

Went there twice a day. At lunchtime there was coffee and cake, very good. In the evening there was wild garlic pasta, game and schnitzel, also very tasty. The service was a bit slow. Our rating: 2+

Home-style restaurant with a beautiful view. Dishes taste very good and have been tastefully arranged. You can also sit outside. Nice friendly service, prices a bit higher.

Nice ski hotel with magnificent views. It costs 12euro extra for room with nice view from the balcony.

This is a very pleasant restaurant with lots of charm. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The dishes are big at a reasonable price. We left the restaurant with a smile on our face!

The Gasthof zur Post is a beautiful, family-run business with a thoroughly delicious cuisine. The service is very friendly and helpful. After our requests (drinks and food) were taken, there are together with the drinks different breads and dips. A very nice entry. Everything was fresh and delicious. The main course will not be long in coming. Everything looks very good and the taste leaves no doubt. Everything is fresh. Here is a Schnitzel still a Schnitzel and no pressed cardboard. The card leaves nothing to be desired and special requests are fulfilled without any problems. We always like to come here. A table should be reserved, especially on weekends.

We didn’t sleep here but kept coming back for the fantastic food. One of the best Schnitzels I’ve ever eaten.

Terrible service, forced to move in a dark corner while the room was empty, very basic food. Seriously? I know german service is bad but here they play for the national championship
